VISUAL COMMUNICATION COURSE
Reimagination of an art piece
In this project I had to take an existing famous work of art and give it a modern, personal interpretation with two other classmates. The artist we chose was Joan Cornella and his comic piece 'Jimbo The Jam'.
In his creation, Joan portrayed society as donning various masks, and to discern truths from falsehoods was an impossibility.
In our modern recreation we demonstrated the same critique toward society by
placing a woman in front of a blank, blue television screen with a dull expression over her face, she wore nothing but a 'onesie', and the cheerful mask she wore all day, to appease those around her, is now discarded, laying on her thigh.
